THE DOOR

“So how can we witness you do the things?”

You’re full of such wonderful questions, and this one is another favorite. I’m here to show you the door. And like there are many ways we have already discussed, there are even more ways other than the art (if that’s somehow not enough for you) to engage.

I work with individuals, small groups, large groups, crowds, and stadiums (manifesting).

At the core of all configurations, I focus on inspiring others to discover and write their own stories. I’m never full of false optimism or disproportionate hope—I’m a truthteller and will not lie to you.

You’re looking for a dynamic and impactful guest for an event. You’ve had plenty of motivational speakers who say the same thing in different ways. You’ve had people who seem out of touch with reality. You’ve had people who don’t really vibe with the audience. You’ve had people who’ve been boring. You’ve had people who haven’t been me. (But now’s your chance!)

I talk about universal liberation, and I can talk about it in a thousand different ways. Self-empowerment, self-authorship, self-recognition, living boldly, the unlocked door, staging Bob—I got you.

If you require me to address your audience in the proper academic terminology, etiquette, and register to meet the exceptional standards of your exquisite institution, I am able to accomplish that as well (but you’ve probably already found someone else by this point, or if you haven’t… interesting).

In the past, my presentations and speaking engagements have been received exceptionally well by audiences of all ages. From teaching first graders the wonders of the tuba to presenting a segment of Visions to elderly women at a suburban library, to having a room of 200 college students individually stand up and yell their unapologetic dreams to everyone, to getting a room of tuba conference goers talking about the hero’s journey, my speaking engagements do not disappoint.

I will work with you to get an understanding of your institution or event and the audience to produce an individualized keynote, speech, presentation, workshop, masterclass, etc.

For a holistic Jazzie. experience, I recommend having me do the genuinely cool things I do as an artist as well. You can book me for Visions (or a more standard tuba recital if that’s still something you actually value more), a concerto (I love performing with community ensembles), Roots as the griotte, and improvisatory loop soundscapes for certain spaces as well.

If you are interested in having me out to your university for a residency, please note that there must be a cross-departmental or school-wide engagement for me to come.
