Performance

My performances aren’t traditional recitals—they’re immersive experiences. I use tuba, spoken word, and narrative structure to pull audiences into stories about identity, grief, joy, resilience, and becoming more fully yourself. Every program is built to meet listeners where they are and invite them into connection.

Program 2: Becoming (Tuba + Spoken Word)

Becoming is a solo tuba and spoken word program about transition, healing, and reclaiming the parts of yourself you once tried to hide. It weaves original works, traditional repertoire, and poetry into a continuous emotional arc that invites audiences to reflect on their own stories of change.

This program resonates with student and community audiences navigating identity, growth, and transformation.

Notable Events: Fall 2025 Becoming Tour

Program 3: Gateways (Tuba, Percussion, & Spoken Word)

Gateways blends tuba, percussion, and spoken word to critique systems of gatekeeping and ask what it means to build your own path when traditional doors are closed. It challenges audiences to rethink access, power, community, and the narratives that shape our opportunities.

This program sparks powerful discussion around equity, representation, and the value of innovation.

Notable Events: Shriver Hall Concert Series (2023) and 2024-2025 Season Residencies

Program 1: Visions (Solo Tuba + Spoken Word)

Visions is a one-woman performance work built from original poems written over a decade that, without design, formed a complete three-act arc: the silence before a voice finds itself, the confrontation with the forces that demanded the silence, and the integration of all parts of the self into something whole. Dr. Pigott performs alone, building layered sonic landscapes live from the tuba while spoken word narrates the interior journey. It is simultaneously a concert, a poetry reading, and a piece of music theater. Watch the pilot work, “Woman in the Mirror”

Notable Events: International Tuba-Euphonium Conference 2023; Howard County Library 2024; International Women in Brass Conference 2025

Program 4: Spectrum (J² Duo — Tuba & Euphonium with Jermaine Fryer)

Spectrum showcases the full expressive and stylistic range of the tuba–euphonium duo. Moving across classical, contemporary, and Black musical traditions, this program highlights color, versatility, and identity through dynamic co-created performance.

The duo format brings energy, variety, and immediate audience engagement—ideal for recitals, workshops, and combined masterclasses.

Notable Events: 2026 Army Band Tuba and Euphonium Workshop
